Texting in Class???

A few tips for sending your next text in class without getting caught!

texting

1. SILENT, SILENT, SILENT! I can’t stress this point enough. This should always be the first thing you do once you get to class. If you fail to do this and your phone goes off, you just put yourself on a Stage 5 Text Watch by the teacher! Good luck texting during stage 5 surveillance.

2. Know your phone! If you are not familiar with your phone you are definitely going to get caught. You will spend too much time looking at your phone instead of the teacher, which brings me to my next point…

3. Eye contact is a must while in the middle of intense text battle with your friend. If you do not make any attempts to give good solid eye contact to the teacher you are doomed. When the teacher does look at you, look back! Either look at the teacher or look at the chalkboard, anything to convince him or her you are paying attention. It is very important that you make better eye contact than the two idiots texting beside you. I think it is good to look at the teacher for an extra minute even after he or she has looked elsewhere. This sells your fake interest during his or her breathtaking lecture just a touch more.

4. Kp ur txt pds (Keep your text message pretty damn short) I know what you are thinking and I don’t like the shorthand lingo either but if you are in class sometimes you have to text like 6th graders. lol:) Anyways if you do not know the lingo a great website for texting abbreviations is below, so get acquainted and start using these because it will clearly cut down on the time spent typing.

5. Location is key… if you know you are going to blow the lecture off and spend that next hour in class as your own personal time to text old friends, then sit somewhere accordingly.

6. Keep your phone out of site. If your teacher sees your phone at all he or she will automatically put you on a Stage 2 Text Watch without warning. So conceal your phone the best you can! Use a backpack, books, or a jacket to help hide your phone while texting.

I wish you all successful texting in class! If you have any other tips please share!

Yeah just to add to #6: Holding your phone “discreetly” in your lap doesn’t really work past high school. Most college classrooms are multi-level seating, so those little desks don’t give you the same coverage. Plus, looking at your lap all class pretty much voids Tip #3; to quote one of my teachers, “Nothing about your lap could possibly be that interesting.”
