…are the bane of my existence.

We’ve all been there. You wake up and start thinking about all the things you need to take with you to class that day. Let’s see, pen… paper… notebook… textbook? Nah. Any homework due? No, we just had to take that online quiz by 10:00 yesterd…OH F#@%!!!

So in honor of the fact that I missed one of these little pests just last week, I thought I’d write a post with a few ways of reminding yourself that you have one of these waiting in the wings.

1. Use a planner First of all, let me just say that I can’t use one of these. They just don’t work for some people. There are times when I honestly can’t remember if I’ve washed my hair after I’ve been in the shower for ten minutes. So how am I supposed to remember to write things down AND to check it later to see what I wrote down? But for some people, these little books are the difference between a 3.5 and a 0.5 GPA.

2. Set phone reminders It’s sad to admit, but most of us look at our phones hundreds of times a day just to see if anyone wants to hang out, distract us from homework, or to see if another minute has passed. If you have a phone alarm set, you’re bound to notice it.

3. Phone a friend Shamelessly using a friend with a better memory than you is not the worst thing in the world, especially if it means passing the class. People who set phone reminders and write in planners are good at this sort of thing, don’t be too proud to admit that you aren’t.

Hope this helps. I’m going to go see if I have a quiz due.
